The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad! (Psalm 97:1 ESV)

Our Lord Jesus had great expectations concerning his cross. He viewed his suffering not as a crushing defeat, but as a coronation. Looking forward to the moment when he would be lifted up to die, Jesus proclaimed: “Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out” (John 12:31, ESV). At the cross, death was crushed to death, everlasting life was won for all who would repent and believe, and Satan’s tyrannical reign was crippled.

The kingdom Christ proclaimed in his life was brought to earth in his death, and now in resurrection victory he reigns with all authority in heaven and on earth. One day — may it come soon! — a trumpet will sound and a loud voice from heaven will proclaim, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever!” (Rev. 11:15). Jesus will return, the raging of the nations will be silenced, and all the earth, even to its most distant coastlands, will rejoice.

We long to see the Word of God flow powerfully through every church to every nation because we believe this is how Christ extends his reign and invites the world into his everlasting joy. As pastors are equipped to proclaim Christ in all the Scriptures, more and more voices join the psalmist in saying, “The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad!”

This longing reminds us that the success of our efforts depends upon the Lord who reigns over all the earth. So as we turn over the calendar into a new year, we also turn to God in prayer. At WordPartners, we begin each day with a focus on prayer—one of the most crucial aspects in ministry. Without prayer, our plans, efforts, goals, and ideas are just that, ours, not the Lord’s. For us, it is a time to remember the importance of keeping Christ at the center of all our plans.

Below, you will find a list of 31 prayer requests that we will bring before the throne of grace throughout the year. Will you seek the Lord with us in 2026 as we depend on him in prayer for our life and ministry?

Your prayers are vital as we long to see the Word of God flowing powerfully through every church to every nation! I am already excited for how God will answer as we depend on him in prayer.
