Each month we’ll update this page with new requests. We invite you to come back regularly to find other ways you can pray for our partners and ministry around the world.
The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad!
(Psalm 97:1)
Our Lord Jesus had great expectations concerning his Cross. He viewed his suffering not as a crushing defeat, but as a coronation. Looking forward to the moment when he would be lifted up to die, Jesus proclaimed: “Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out” (John 12:31, ESV). At the cross, death was crushed to death, everlasting life was won for all who would repent and believe, and Satan’s tyrannical reign was crippled.
The kingdom Christ proclaimed in his life was brought to earth in his death, and now in resurrection victory he reigns with all authority in heaven and on earth. One day — may it come soon! — a trumpet will sound and a loud voice from heaven will proclaim, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever!” (Rev. 11:15). Jesus will return, the raging of the nations will be silenced, and all the earth, even to its most distant coastlands, will rejoice.
We long to see the Word of God flow powerfully through every church to every nation because we believe this is how Christ extends his reign and invites the world into his everlasting joy. As pastors are equipped to proclaim Christ in all the Scriptures, more and more voices join the psalmist in saying, “The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad!”
